Missing regional flags since reset

Jeremy,

After the problem yesterday with s04, first let me say thank you for getting it working again, however im missing many regional flags. before i had 922 collected and now i have 806. i can give you a detailed list of the regional flags im missing as i kept a record of the ones i have yet to collect.

for example i now i have 72 Russian flags when i had 85 and Argentina i now have 7 before i had all 24

can you still rectify this because some Russian flags are impossible to collect now.

Re: Missing regional flags since reset

Hi, 'friend in trouble'
My flagcounter got recovered too (third time this year), and all my flags came on January, 1 1970 (again).
And now, my newest flag is - Unknown - Satellite provider (again). And it should be Saint Helena - I also have a record with all my flags number etc.
Even though I'm a pro user, even though I asked Jeremy to fix this, he doesn't even bother to answer me...

And now, I'm going all over again, collecting flags...

I hope your regionals are recovered ! Good luck !

Re: Missing regional flags since reset

I don't know if restoring your true newest flag is something that can be fixed the way the counters are configured, what I wonder is, if the unk flags were to be incorporated back into the total count again would this solve the problem, or just removing unk flags totally

Re: Missing regional flags since reset

I agree with your 'wondering' I think both options are good, this current state is not a good and acceptable solution...

Re: Missing regional flags since reset

roddersnavy,

Please check the email that I have sent you.

Chack,

I understand your frustration, and we do not yet know what happened on s04 causing it to reset 4 or 5 different counters at the exact same moment.

We have fully restored each of these counters.  What happens after this occurs is the "newest flag" changes constantly until each of the 1970 dates clear out of the system.  For instance, if you receve a visit from Reunion right now, it will be your newest flag, since they haven't been seen since we restored your counter.

What you are asking us to do is to manually adjust the flags you have received, and that is something that we do not, in any circumstance do.  In the history of our service, we have never adjusted any of our customers' counters.

Thanks for your understanding.

Re: Missing regional flags since reset

Hello, Jeremy.

I'm glad you finally found time to answer me. But, I don't agree with you and unfortunately, I must say you're wrong. (I already said this, but let me repeat - I'm a programmer too)
I had experience with the resetting (this year - counter reset happened three times to me) and I found out the 'pattern'.
All 234 countries in my collection have their flags. Also, 3 of the Unknown collection have flags too - Unknown ?, Unknown - European Union and Unknown - Asia and Pacific region. All three appear in minute counter when I receive a visit from these 'countries'.
Every time my counter was reset - the counter started to collect all over and my newest flag was changing - according to your explanation above. BUT, when you recovered the counter - all 234 'real' countries PLUS the three I named above - Unknown ?, AP and EU - appear too. All with date January 1, 1970.
So, they can't be placed as newest flag next time these countries visit, because they are not new, they already exist.
And the other two Unknown, that don't exist after the counter recovery are 'available' and one of them (eventually both, but the one that comes later) become Newest flag. And that's the true problem.

Now, in order to solve this, you don't have to manually correct my counter. All you have to do is attach a flag image to the other two Unknown, just like you added for AP and Unknown ?. This way, they will appear in minute counter and they will be in flag collection. And next time my counter is reset/recovered, all flags will be in my collection and newest one will be the one that comes last after reset and before recovery, like you explained.

Or, you could simply erase all these 5 Unknown flags and problem solved !

I hope I helped you and I also hope that you will solve our problem according to this.
