Because green is the color of islam
Also because Col Gaddafi launched the 'green revolution' many years back to convert part of the desert to productive land. He also wrote the Green book.
Actually, plain green is quite soothing - I don't mind that one at all.
Also, what's wrong with the new Rwanda flag - quite nice I think!!

Sorry, I find the big "R" for Rwanda rather unattractive (actually, I am thinking of the older pre-genocide flag, not the current one). Sorry for the confusion, that's just how I remember it.

Hehehe yes, you're right, I used to think the same thing when looking at that flag! How come they couldn't come up with something better to put on it than the first letter of the country! ;-)
