Flag Counter and Safari OS X
A friend uses Flag Counter in Blogger which has had its difficulties recently when vids stopped playing for everyone.
At about the same time Flag counter stopped displaying on my iMac in Safari, but was Ok on an older MacBook. Now it won't display on either Mac, despite re-launching Safari and even a re-start.
Fine in Firefox though.
Cheers, Colin

Flag Counters are just images. I would suggest there's a problem with your computer.

Re: Flag Counter and Safari OS X
Hi,
Not sure if I responded to this at the time, but tho I am now probably 3 versions on in Safari Mac [currently 4.0.5] I still have the problem which is a pain as it is my default browser. However no issues in Firefox or Chrome.
The two sites that I know of using it which do not work are [just the name of the counter appears top right] and missingportraits.info/contact/index.php which is currently broken.

Re: Flag Counter and Safari OS X
Hmm, have you tried to clean the history/cache/cookies in Safari? Are there add-ones, similar to the ones in Firefox? Maybe they're causing images not to get displayed properly - or could it be your firewall?
Please see if any of the following could solvee the problem:
Or just use FF/Chrome

Re: Flag Counter and Safari OS X
Thanks Notturno,
I have cleared the cache as a matter of course several times [not anything to do with Flag Counter] and done a couple of upgrades as well over time - but no difference. I quite like Chrome, but Safari has one feature that I don't think any other browser has, the ability to save a web page as a single file [webarchive] which I need to use a lot.
Incidentally, I can see how to edit the code to change the copy and its colour where it says 'Visitors' or whatever, but i can't see that one can change the font - I'd like Georgia for this page.

Re: Flag Counter and Safari OS X
You can't change the font.
Have you checked the links I gave you?
1. Go to Preferences > Appearance > Display Images - is that checked?
2. Exit the firewall and check those sites again, can you see the images?
3.
Plenty of people complain about Safari not loading images, could be anything

Re: Flag Counter and Safari OS X
Thanks again Notturno.
Yup, I did check the refs[and the new one] and display images was already checked. I do get the little blue ? from time to time, but not ever for Flag Counter in Safari. Indeed if I did not know it should be there I would not know it was there if you follow me. Indeed if you go to where I am testing my site I can't even draw a marquee around where Flag Counter should be and find a trace of it - tho it is fine in other browsers.
As it works in other browsers I rather doubt it is a firewall: I am ashamed to say it has taken me a long time to find the IP address of my router as I changed it recently and if was pre-configured by my ISP. However the problem started with my old Belkin router. With my new one the firewall is set as 'Standard' and I can't see any way it can be changed from my browser. I guess it is working as it has taken 38401 hits, incrementing at about 5 a minute - I assume that is incoming rather than outgoing?

Errm, I'm not that computer savvy, let's see if other members have more clue/hints to write in order to solve the problem

Re: Flag Counter and Safari OS X
Thanks Notturno - sorry for the delay, but I was locked out of my Gmail a/c so I got no notification of your posting.
I have done a check and on a Mac it is OK in Chrome, Firefox and Opera - Safari is fine on a PC, but not a Mac which is ironic. You can see it at where is it temporarily parked.
