I'll answer with a question: Do e-mails support HTML?
Imagine you're the sole provider of a Guernsey flag, how would you feel being bombarded with hundreds of e-mails from unknown people who are only after the flag? Don't you spam enough on myspace, facebook, etc. now you want to bombard personal mail? Fortunately e-mail providers close such accounts..
