Unknown flags - should they stay or should they go?
We've received a lot of feedback about the "Unknown" flags showing up on Flag Counters. (Those that have a "?" mark.)
They were added only a couple months ago. No matter what, they will, of course, still show up in your "Countries" breakdown, but do you want them on your site?
Please post here if you have feelings one way or the other, or even if it makes you no difference.
Thanks!

I'll go first.
I think it looks better without them.

Re: Unknown flags - should they stay or should they go?
You could put them at the end of the countries list....
I mean something like that:
.
.
132.Swaziland 1
133.Togo 1
after the normal countries, you can list the Unknowns:
Unknown Visits:
1. Unknown - Satellite Provider: 32
2. Unknown - Asia/Pacific Region: 11
3. Unknown - Anonymous Proxy: 5
4. Unknown: 1
In the image ( ...flagcounter.com/count/ XXX) you can also put them at the end of the countries list..
Edit: they should stay, because it makes the counter a little bit mysterious

Re: Unknown flags - should they stay or should they go?
Ok so if i understand right, the problem is with ?/white/grey square showing up on images? As long as they still show on "Countries" breakdown I'm fine with it, just because you cannot ignore people who access internet via proxy/satellite.
Or you could also replace those question marks/white/grey squares with appropriate images: a satellite, a "proxy" sign, asia/pacific region (i've seen one on neoWORX widgets), unknown something , so that it will be aestethically pleasing to the eyes and people won't revolt again
I say let them stay

I say let them stay.
But perhaps on the image, instead of all ?'s we can make letter designations for the unknowns, like for unknown - asia pacific, we have AP

I am happy for them to stay, but I like scr09 idea. At the end of the day it the Flagcounter Team finally choice whether these stay or go.

that's a standard, not something one "makes" randomly.
A1: Anonymous Proxy
A2: Satellite Provider
AP: Asia/Pacific
ZZ: Unknown (not sure about this one..)

scr09 seems to have the best idea - let them stay, after all they are "countries" even though we do not know what they are.

Re: Unknown flags - should they stay or should they go?
I am OK with the Unknown flags, but I would like to see a flag attached to each one, meaning a flag with maybe the Flag Counter logo or something like a flag with APX, STP, ASP, UNK as mentioned above
