241 countries instead of 250 countries
My Flag Counter states that there are 241 flags to collect. Other users seem to be able to collect 250, is there a reason for that?

Hi Alan,
Some countries are no longer collectible so we do not show them as available. Some of the counters you may be seeing have as many as 10 years of history.

Nope. All 250 countries have real (not sure if currently active) IPs
251/251 countries and 3,860/3,860 flags collected.

Thanks Jeremy.
I was wondering, because I've just requested a Pitcairn Islands flag in the 'Flag Offers' section and then I checked Pitcairn Islands isn't amongst the flags I've collected nor is it in the list of missing flags.
UPDATE:
Just picked up the Pitcairn Islands flag (thanks to Berni) and it added it to my list of flags received even though it wasn't in my list of missing flags.

I think that some countries are no longer available. I also noticed that the number of flags is much less than before, whereas normally there are 250 or 251.

There are currently 250 active country codes in the ISO Standard list but yes
251/251 countries and 3,860/3,860 flags collected.
