First read FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - MODIFYING YOUR FLAGCOUNTER.
You can change any parameter you want, your flagcounter will not RESET, what kind of st*pid idea is that? 
As long as the column nr. is between 1 and 9, and flag nr. between 1 and 248.
