My counter does not account for the missing countries
I found that there are countries which the flagcounter can detect, but did not notify me in the list:
1. Antarctica,
2. Bouvet Island,
3. Cocos (Keeling) Islands,
4. French Southern and Antarctic Lands,
5. Heard Island and McDonald Islands,
6. Pitcairn Islands,
7. South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands,
8. United States Minor Outlying Islands,
9. Western Sahara.
Why is that?

Because they are not 'sovereign countries':
Antarctica continent without sovereign countries,
Bouvet Island part of Norway,
Cocos (Keeling) Islands part of Australia,
French Southern and Antarctic Lands part of France,
Heard Island and McDonald Islands part of Australia,
Pitcairn Islands part of the United Kingdom,
South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands part of the United Kingdom,
United States Minor Outlying Islands part of the United States,
Western Sahara partially recognized de facto sovereign state in a portion of a territory occupied by Morocco.

Thanks for the reply!
What impressed me is that these countries appear as flags when they visit flagcounter.
Can you provide a complete list of countries that add flags, but they are not sovereign states?

A complete list of possible countries and territories is 250. You now have 240, plus today you will receive the Falkland Islands from Bernie, plus 9 territories that you named in the post above, and you can get them someday if you wish. Only 250. This is the complete list.

Re: My counter does not account for the missing countries
We go through the same thing in Ham Radio. I large amount of Hams chase Countries also, called DXing in Ham Radio. We use these same Country Standards, but add more to it. We also count Islands that are over 200 miles fro there Parent Country. This adds a lot of remote islands, that makes things very interesting. To get one validated, you have to have a conversation with someone in one of these places, and exchange what is called a QSL Card, with details about date, time frequency used, etc. It is a huge task to do them all. I have all of them, except 2. Crozet Island, that is in the south Indian Ocean, and belongs to France, and a cluster of Rocks, called Scarborough Reef, which is in the ocean to the west of the Philippine Islands. These are only above sea level at low tide Crozet has Restricted Access, and Scarborough Reef, is in a area contested by at least 4 countries,
May be awhile for these last 2 LOL
I enjoy Fast cars, Ham Radio, and old Army Rifles.
