The rules say 12/31/2010.
If someone hasn't made 1000 (qualified) posts by then (which I highly doubt) we will still award it to the top 3.

I hink it can decrease the interest of many users for that "section".

That's what I noticed 
Then one of the most major points (serving to help people get more and rare flags) of this forum is lost. Since those users, who are constantly here will concentrate on other sections

And maybe we will have some other contests, like Help to as many users, as you can. Then Request Flags will be the most popular
