Verifying Flag Counter hits
We have a Flag Counter on our web site, which has recently recorded a couple of hits from other countries. We also use Google Analytics to track traffic to our site, and have noticed that it has not recorded the visits from these same countries. Does anyone know why that is? It seems that the Google traffic data should match what the Flag Counter is recording. Thanks for the replies!

Re: Verifying Flag Counter hits
Not all trackers work the same way:
- FC only counts the visit when the FC image loads completely. If the visit is cancelled before completion, it will not be tracked.
- Feedjit can be cheated by someone changing manually his7her location in feedjit, so it is not as relyable as FC.
- Other counters track pageloads instead of unique IPs.
I don't know how google Analytics works, but this will give you an idea of what can cause the differences.

Thanks for that info! It helps to make sense of this apparent discrepancy. We'll keep checking our Google account for those international hits!

Re: Verifying Flag Counter hits
Also FC pageviews and flags work differently. Pageviews will increase after each visit (meaning your visitor fully loaded the image), but flags will only be recorded for each unique IP. Meaning that if an IP still had a cookie to your website, no new flag will be recorded.
