Another Request for Transparent Background
This would be very helpful, as the background colors on my page change periodically and it's difficult/impossible to find a flag background color that works for everything.

Its not impossible at all.

I don't think you understood what I was saying. My webpage image (what's shown behind the flag counter) changes several times a day, so a transparent counter would work better than trying to find a flag counter color that works well with all backgrounds.

Well a transparent background isn't available. and to be honest, i think it would look a lot worse if it was........imagine the colours of the flags being lost in the background of your page.....it would look horrible. IMO it's far better to have a solid background.

Now, moving on, I was hoping to hear from one of the developers of flagcounter on whether this functionality would be added at some point.

I am asking same question last year and had replying from the staff "NO"
Transparent background is fine over main texture background. In this case I am fix Flag Counter into box frame with nearest color from texture.
I think it is no big problem do it, as counter is image just choose "transparent" in the code which was generate image color.
Here is lot of widgets (weather, solar data etc) which also is image and have ,as option , transparent background -so it is possible do it if Flag Counter owner want do it.
