Faster than normal increase of hits
My counter is totting up an inordinate number of hits. I also have a country that would give 2,000 hits at the most which is showing over 13,000 hits.
I also have 'RevolverMaps' on my page and that is recording only a small fraction of those recorded by FlagCounterPro
Any explanation?

It is likely that your counter was accidentely placed on a site which provides the hits.
You can prevent such behave if you enable and edit the "allowed site" function at your flag counter management.
