Interesting read. but if it did succeed there would be more reason for war than there is now

This is why the British Empire should have never created the state of israel.

+1 from Holland,

And thanks for the compliment!

I disagree, I don't see why there would be any more conflict in the Middle East this way. If the Arabic nations surrounding the Jewish state are all under the control of two western empires allied to the Jewish state, there is little possibility for the Arabs to attack the Jews and little need for the Jews to attack the Arabs - besides of course protecting the Jewish minority of Jerusalem from pogroms, but this wouldn't be a good enough casus belli to invade allied territory. And I disagree with your second statement: it would have been a good thing if Britain allowed a Jewish homeland to develop in the Middle East for the following reasons:

1. It would have saved hundreds of millions of Jews from the Nazi Holocaust: many Jews were not allowed to migrate to Eretz Yisrael because of the White Paper.

2. Britain wouldn't be seen as a betrayer by the Zionists - first promising the development of a Jewish homeland in Israel (in which Arabs have the same rights) and then forbidding them from building this homeland and even struggling against the UN partition plan of 1947.

Also, Arabs and Jews could have been great friends if the British kept their promise to Sharif of Mecca Hussein. During WWI they promised the Arabs full independence in a territory reaching from the eastern border of Egypt to the western border of Iran. Following this agreement, Weizmann and Faisal (the son of Hussein) agreed that the modern-day area of Israel (including Gaza, Shomron and Yehuda) would become a Jewish state - in exchange for Zionist help in developing the pan-Arabic state. When the British decided not to keep their promise to the Arabs, the Arabs in turn, understandably, withdrew their agreement with the Jews.
