Sorry my mistake,  Scotland doesn't have it's .sco domain yet but the wheels are in motion for Scotland to have it's own domain name.

Check out these webpages regarding the '.sco' / '.scot' internet domain.

It kinda bugs me when I get visitors on my website from some european countries and in flagcounter next to the euro flag it says... "EU unknown european country"

Re: Scottish Flag

Since every State flag of the US is available, should not the same be said worlwide. I am sure there are many regional flags out there. Might as well make this flag-counter worldwide already...not just countries and American state flags.
Peace...

Re: Scottish Flag

Scottish Parliament backs dotSCO campaign
Tuesday, 10 February 2009
The Scottish Parliament's Public Petitions Committee today formally endorsed the dotSCO campaign, after receiving assurances from the Government that it was doing all it could to help ensure an application could be submitted to ICANN later this year.

The unanimous vote cast by the Committee means that our campaign now has cross-party support - a crucial step in demonstrating to ICANN a widespread desire across Scotland and its diaspora for a Scottish domain.

The dotSCO team are delighted that both Parliament and Government have been so supportive of our campaign. Less than nine months after we started collecting signatures to submit the petition, we are now well on the way to submitting an application to ICANN - no small feat.

Re: Scottish Flag

I think someone proposed the idea of setting up a state flagcounter before, but unfortunately following the discontinuation of the US state counter, the state counter for countries were terminated. Though for me it would be great if we have England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland flags as well, if they each have their own ccTLD

Thanks for dropping bye my post.
It kind of bugs me too.I'm sure if any of these people were Welsh or Scottish they would understand why we want our countries at the least represented with a regional flag.

Scotland has there own laws and money probably one day independence and with it the national flag.

Re: Scottish Flag

David and Cristean
one wonders why Pillandia is so opposed to the nations within the UK having their flags listed at the regional level when s/he obviously supports small countries such as Estonia?
I think we should all post to Jeremy to ask for England (St George's cross), Scotland (St Andrew's saltire), Wales (y ddraig goch), and Northern Ireland (St Patrick's saltire)
Also, we should ask that (like US states and Canadian provinces), these should be available without upgrading. I shall post to the topmost section and would ask you also post to see whether at long last something can happen here!

Re: Scottish Flag

This suggestion is bizarre and shows total lack of knowledge about the UK constitution.
The fact that one flag is "inside" another (only if you know - it's not obvious) has no importance when considering whether any of the UK constituent countries should show up on the flag counter! In fact, Wales has less constitutional freedom than either Scotland or N. Ireland (though more than England!).
Clearly, there is no constitutional reason why any of the 4 flags should show up at the National flag level until and unless any of them become independent. They should all show up at the regional level as many of us have argued.
The fact that Wales doesn't appear in the Union Jack is of no importance in this regard at all.
Methinks that Pillandia should go back to slagging off Haiti for not having improved itself since 1804, and leave the UK flag issue alone!

As explained in another topic too, my opinions are:
1) OK for the flag of Wales;
2) KO for the flag of Scotland/England/Northern Ireland, because they are already contained inside the "Union Jack"
