every time i try to enter the HTML code onto my Blogspot gadget thingy
every time i try to enter the HTML code that i get when i request a counter onto my Blogspot gadget thingy, i get the message..'illegal characters in this code'...something like that, with instruction...'fix this'. don't know what to do...www.godchristguru.blogspot.com

Please can you add the code again to your page? Actually I can't see neither a flag counter on your blog nor the error message.

probably the gadget doesn't accept some characters in images.
for example. the most famous free the forum board PHPBB, doesn't allow images with "=", "&" and some other symbols.
that's why Jeremy made another version of the code.
So you can replace the "=" on your code by "_" (underlines)
try this and see if it works.
