Re: Region Names

Jeremy,
I asked why the poll was started because it seems that the results won't count much.
Interesting to know now that you have no interest in the results.
Allow me to call this "pseudo democracy".
I thought that you were at least interested in the results of the poll.
Seems to me that you made your (final) decision before starting it.
Well - lesson learnt (British English)...

Re: Region Names

I am very interested in the results.   There seems to have been a loss of understanding in my English. "I have no interest in the results" means that I have no self-interest or personal interest.  If most of our users wanted all the region names in Egyptian hieroglyphics it would make me no difference, as I don't have an interest in how they are named.  I am here to best serve our users and improve our service for everyone.

Re: Region Names

@ Jeremy: Most of the regions are shown as before in my counter - which means in the respective "native" language! Many thanks for that - it's much appreciated!!!
Just to inform you: Some regions are still shown in English - e. g. Lombardy/Italy (instead of Lombardia) and Castile-La Mancha/Spain (instead of Castilla-La Mancha) while other regions of the same countries were changed back.

Re: Region Names

For now, we are going to work with two sets of region names.  I think this is a good compromise that I have seen little objection to.

Viewers from the US, Australia, New Zealand or the UK will see the English names, everyone else will see the names in the language of the respective countries.

If there are any other region names in the international version that are still in English, please let me know.  The list is a bit long and confusing after awhile.

Re: Region Names

Jeremy, I think the following region names in the international version need to be changed:
Russia: Moscow (City), Moscow (Province)
Italy: Piedmont
Hungary: Budapest Capital City
Colombia: North Santander
Czech Republic: Prague, South Moravian, Central Bohemian, South Bohemian
Finland: Southern Finland Province, Western Finland Province, Eastern Finland Province
Many thanks in advance!

Re: Region Names

quotes of the month award goes to...............its a close one......

#1 " I can delete the poll if you like, but I thought it would be useful to gather the opinions of those who view it."

#2 "I have no interest in the results one way or the other"

so if you have "no interest in the results one way or another"   why bother making one????
lmao....................you need a girlfriend jeremy.........
