Names of German regions (states)
Hi Jeremy,
the names of the German regions (states) have been shown in German. But now that has changed to names in English.
Could it be changed back to German names? (The regions of other countries - e.g. France, Netherlands, Spain and so on) are still shown in the language of the respective country...

Jeremy did this intentionally. It was considered to provide only English names.
It improves our English skill

I agree. Why it is so difficult to understand and to follow? Flag counter is an American service. They defined the rules and with using flag counter one accepts the rules.
This procedure works in Germany too. So, my message is to read the forum rules and to follow them.
AngelaMerkel, that works for you too.

Re: Names of German regions (states)
We are working to switch every country to English names.
Would you prefer every country's names were in their own language? We could do that, but I'm not sure it makes much sense, since the rest of our site is in English.

I don't think u can expect FC to translate every word, post, flag or region into every possible native language to help all users. It would become impossible. And the site is free for most users. PMs are always available anyway for different languages.

Re: Names of German regions (states)
Dear all,
I just made a suggestion (under "Suggestions and Feedback") - nothing more, nothing less. If you don't want to accept it - well, that's fine with me.
Regarding rule no. 4: The names of the regions, states and so on of several/nearly all countries (at least from Europe, North, Central and South America) have been shown in the language of the respective country - and a lot still are.
So: I hope you didn't refer to my post/me when you mentioned rule no. 4. It wasn't/isn't me who was/is breaking this rule - but FC "itself" showing the names in the languages of the respective countries for quite a looooong time.
Best.
