They are nice but I agree with Paul Prince, for the size these images are being used at the current flag images are much clearer, and the extra detail in the new ones is not suitable.

the new flags fit into a game (formula 1 style) start the race again? ;) for slow flagcounter visits are better the current flag images. they are classic and more sutable and much clearer.

I like the current flags better. The shading makes it difficult to see some of the details on the new flags, e.g. stars on the Chinese flag.

I think the effects in these new flags makes it harder to see. As the flags are small, I prefer a simple view of them. Those two "white stripes" in the diagonal would give a better effect in larger flags or animated flags.
However, they are not ugly. But I prefer the current ones. It would be nice though to provide the two versions. You can add them as a value in the "flags" parameter in the FC Code.
