I understood that the flag counter would record my first visit then add a cookie so my access wouldn't be counted again.

However this is not working or so it appears.

I've checked over the last three days by clicking on visitors immediately after I logged onto the site & the message is that I had a visitor in the last few seconds. Checks after this in the same session reveal the last person to have visited did so in the timeframe that I had been logged on.

This morning I started with 6 visitors, I have logged in on three separate occasions & visitors have increased to 9.

In an attempt to remedy this, I did maintenance this morning by requesting new code thinking that would reset the visitors to 1, (being me) but no I still ended up with the 6 visitors. 

I have cookies enabled.

How can I overcome this problem?
