Use Of Hit Counters Penalized By Google?
Hello, I have flagcounter on my site and I think my site is being penalized by google for using it. I read that:
"Hidden links in third party services (menus, widgets, counters) – free services for websites often have a rather sneaky business model. They sneak in a hidden link with their offering. It can be a CSS menu, a sidebar widget or a visitor counter. Sometimes these links are not only hidden; they are also off-topic and downright spammy. Look out and check the source code of stuff you add to your sites. Google, of course, doesn’t allow hidden links."
And also in www.linchpinseo.com/hit-counters in that hit counters such as flagcounter in web sites are disliked by google and penalizes them for it.
Can you please clarify and help me on this matter?

We do not use hidden links. In the example you've linked to, the counter has a hidden link to a coupon site. You can see is plainly in the HTML code. Hidden links could result in your page being penalized by Google, but a Flag Counter that doesn't contain anything like that isn't going to.

Jeremy is right. Flagcounter is a simple image without javascript, I also wrote about FC Web Counter with Traffic and Backlink. I found FC is useful for blogger to avoid referer spam. Here some link to pro blogger expert and might be useful for you.
