Ghisray - Australia Day is our national day, it commemorates the 26th January 1788 when the First Fleet from England under the Command of Captain Arthur Phillip arrived in Sydney New South Wales to establish the first settlement in Australia. The fleet was full of convicts from the UK that were sentenced to transportation to the colonies for serious crimes such as stealing a loaf of bread - I kid you not!
Thank you for explainations. I had the idea it was something like this but it's better to know from an australian ! So, you have ancestors who have stolen a loaf of bread 
!!
