Perhaps appropriate for Austrailia Day - one of our regional newspapers here [north-east England] today reports the birth of a Wallaby at a farm near Middlesbrough. Not an everyday event here, as you might imagine.

Ghisray - Australia Day is our national day, it commemorates the 26th January 1788 when the First Fleet from England under the Command of Captain Arthur Phillip arrived in Sydney New South Wales to establish the first settlement in Australia. The fleet was full of convicts from the UK that were sentenced to transportation to the colonies for serious crimes such as stealing a loaf of bread - I kid you not!
