mobile phone visitors
I have a question I hope someone can answer. I sometimes visit last.fm profiles that have a flag counter via my mobile phone. And I also read somewhere that a view is only counted when the visitor SEES the flag counter (when it loads fully). So I don't have the newest of mobile phones but I have a pretty good one and I have last.fm on my mobile, and when I visit pages that have a flag counter, I don't see the flag counter because, like I said, i don't have the newest or most modern of phones. So is my view counted or what? Thanks for your help.

Re: mobile phone visitors
you can register a visit from an iphone any model on last.fm but you need to scroll down and "switch to the regular last.fm"

Re: mobile phone visitors
I'm sorry, but that's not possible. Even if you do SEE your counter, it will not be counted because mobile service providers don't assign IP addresses to your phone. It is impossible to judge someone's location without an IP address. Trust me, I've tried it myself with a Nokia X3.
But if you have an iPhone or any 4G phone with a broadband plan or Wi-Fi option, Flagcounter WILL count your visit. This is because an IP address is assigned to your phone. Again, I've tried it myself, this time with a Nokia E5.
Have a nice day !

Does the iTouch have any exclusive broadband plans, like the iPhone ? If yes, then it would make sense because the services for the iPhone are handled by ISPs. Hence, IP addresses are assigned for online use, just like on a regular PC. If I'm not mistaken, only the iPhone, or other similar products have special ISP broadband plans. Most regular cellphone services are handled by mobile operators, not ISPs.

actually I can connect to any hotspot, but I think the difference is that with the Nokia, they have their own os, I may be wrong,,,but the Apple iphone/itouch run on Safari, which would make sense

I see, I see. That means your iTouch is Wi-Fi enabled, right ? My bad, I'm not well versed in Apple products. Nokia uses the Symbian OS. If Nokia users don't like the Symbian internet browser, they can always use the Opera Mobile browser. The OS doesn't make any major difference, it is only a matter of visual and graphical extras. Of course, Apple's iOS GUI and browser is far superior to Nokia's Symbian, but both carry out all core tasks perfectly.
The most important thing is that you have a device which is IP address friendly. Almost all 3.5G and 4G phones are IP address friendly. I'm sure your iTouch is too.
