Ascension Island has its own domain (.ac) so cant a flag be made from it? as for Tristan Da Cunha they have saint helena domaine (.sh) but have another flag ...is it possible to make AC a collectably flag on FC?

Thanks

Re: Ascension and Tristan Da Cunha

Well, Ascension Island is a sister island of Saint Helena and although it has an own stamp, I'm afraid it will be impossible to make a flag out of it. But let's hope!

Re: Ascension and Tristan Da Cunha

Currently, St Helena and Tristan have officially recognized flags. Ascension does not. However, the Ascension government is consulting on a flag design with the relevant British authorities.
Mind you, there is only a small population; as Wikipedia says: "There is no indigenous or permanent population on the island, although around 880 people live there as of 2010".

Re: Ascension and Tristan Da Cunha

Ascension Island should be possible.
For example, I opened my phone bill today. It shows this:
1. Calls to St Helena - they are listed as St Helena. So it agrees with FC
2. Calls to Christmas Island - they are listed as Australia. So it agrees with FC.
3. Calls to Svalbard - listed as Norway. So it agrees with FC.
But:
4. Calls to Ascension Island - they are all listed as Ascension - not St Helena, UK/GB, or unknown.
And all these 4 places clicked on my counter.
Does my phone operator have a better tracking system than FC ?

Re: Ascension and Tristan Da Cunha

Hi Lorelei -
as I posted before, Ascension has NO flag - so what would be the point? It'd just show up as another Union Jack!
When it gets a flag, that'd be a different matter .....

Sorry, did not check your previous posts. Thanks for your advice anyway. It's sometimes OK to try for a different flag and see what happens. Who knows ?

Re: Ascension and Tristan Da Cunha

I gather they are planning a flag, but it's taken a long long time so far ....!!

Considering that both BAT and BIOT have flags, and only penguins (and the odd [very odd] scientist) lives in the first, and all the inhabitants were thrown out of the second to make room for US military bases, it seems strange that they have flags at all!

@ Lorelei,

I think it's a much easier for your phone operator because Ascencion and St. Helena have different area codes...

Re: Ascension and Tristan Da Cunha

BIOT used to be possible, high officers of the US Navy used to leave the flag... The lower positions used to leave a US flag.
