Why is the Pro Counter so expensive..
30 dollars is huge to just have a counter sitting on a page..
does it come and cook me dinner or something?.

You're welcome to use the free version. For $2.49 a month I think it is a good deal. Some people's counters are easily 100KB each pageview, and likely the largest download on their page. When a counter is loaded thousands and thousands of times daily, it takes a lot of bandwidth and a lot of resources. If you think $30 a year is a lot, you should see our server bills!
