Counter problem?
We've had our counter for just over a month and never had any problems - it's great. Our visitors have followed a pretty predictable pattern, until today when it seems to have gone mad!
It's registering GB visits at a tremendous rate (for us). I think there have been over 300 today so far, and not showing any signs of stopping. Normally our GB visitors tail off about 2030 BST but it hasn't happened tonight.
We've done nothing new to promote our site - it's a fansite for an actor and we want a true picture of how global his fans are, we're not just randomly collecting flags. Any idea why it would suddenly show such an increase in GB visitors and pageviews?

Following options are thinkable:
i) promotion without your knowledge;
ii) the actor becomes very popular due to press, TV or whatever; people intent to know more;
iii) one other has used your flag counter code. That might cause unexpected traffic increase.
Following solutions:
i) do nothing, enjoy your traffic and be happy;
ii) see i);
iii) check a different analytic tool, if that shows the same result see i) otherwise contact Jeremy. It is likely that he can track from where the traffic comes. A second analytic tool seems to be the best to employ and to check the results.

I think it's iii) mainly due to unstable server (s07) - from what i've seen here, latest problems occur mainly on s07 .
Jeremy will check your counter, could be that someone else is using the same counter as you.

I don't think it's to do with Flag Counter now. The flag counter stats trebled yesterday, but I've just seen the visitor stats from our hosting package and they have trebled too.
Still no idea why it happened though, but seems to be quieter today.
