Which Page do I put flag counter on?

Hi there to everyone - first time post,

I'm interested in using flag counter for my website http://www.davidpagephotography.com but can someone give me some advice?

Does it matter which page I put the flag counter on? Does the counter only count when the page where flag counter is placed is accessed or does the counter count when the domain name is accessed (regardless of which page is viewed).

many thanks,

David

Re: Which Page do I put flag counter on?

Yes, the counter will only count when the widget and image are loaded by the visitor's browser (in fact if the visitor prevents images from being loaded, it may not even count the visitor even if he visited the page on which you have the flagcounter code).

It is always good design websites such that all pages have some common elements (like navigation bar, etc.).  Then you can place the flagcounter as part of such a common element so that it is always loaded when a visitor visits any page on your site.

Re: Which Page do I put flag counter on?

Well David,
That is a great site where you intent to place the counter. Before doing that you should consider on which of your pages do you like to see the counter.
As blogannath explained, the counter only counts visitors if the flagcounter image is being loaded. In that respect you should think a few minutes or check your visitor analytic employed where the most visitors strand on your site.
For example, it would make not much sense if you decide to place the counter on your contact page if you get only few queries per month. If your main page is the most frequented page it should give it a trial.
In fact, if you decided later that the place is not the best you can transport your visitors counted when moving the flagcounter code to another place, that is no problem.

I hope it was of some help.

Re: Which Page do I put flag counter on?

Many thanks for the advice on where to put the counter and thanks for your kind comment on my site, it is much appreciated.
I have eventually gone and placed the flag counter on my homepage (one on the English version and one on the French version). I think the flag counter is great fun to see where all the visits are coming from but my problem now is that at the moment my site looks very unloved!!!! Only one flag from one country so it would be grrrrrrreatly appreciated if all you flag collectors could pay a quick visit to raise my flag count  Of course whilst you are there please pop into the gallery and see if there are any pictures there that may interest you for your home or office...........................

Re: Which Page do I put flag counter on?

Just checked your page out and added your first Australian flag. The windmill photo is great - it would make a great model for somebody's model railway.  Perhaps you could post your website on the Request Flags forum to get more flags.
