I was not sure, but after asking my son, it appears we have a dynamic IP address, so that is probably the reason why it is happening

That or maybe when closing browser cookies are deleted.
What browser do you use?
If Firefox, check Tools > Options > Security > Cookies

If you do not accept cookies, or delete your cookies, it is possible for you to be counted again (but not immediately)
