We have not strayed from ISO 3166 country codes for a single country, and have no plans to start now. GB is in fact the proper code for the United Kingdom.  Straying from standards opens the potential for debate and conflict.  There are some, for instance, that would like to see Macedonia removed from our site entirely.  Others might want us to change Switzerland to something other than "CH".
