Failure of the counter

The second day my counter is not working properly. Taking into account not all visits. Visits from regions counted against the mass as "Unknown".
I have a page is 15 counters - one general and the counters of the countries.
Today, for 1 second was 15 visits from the United States. All - Internet Explorer 9     Windows Vista  . First, the counter has counted correctly - 1st visit - new, 14 - no.
Half an hour later he changed his mind and changed counter Attendance statistics - now all 15 visits - new.
Houston, we have a problem !!!

Re: Failure of the counter

Hi aa1ye,

I have taken a look at your counter and visitor log and everything is working exactly as it should.

You have 15 counters on your site. Ordinarily, when a new visitor comes to your site, this will result in one entry in your visitor log being "New" and the other 14 not being a new visitor.

In this case, it appears that your site was visited by some sort of robot or spider. Each of the requests for different counters came from a different IP address, with only the numbers in the last subnet changing. Since the IP address changed from loading one counter to the next, each of the unknown visitors in your 15 counters was counted as a new visitor. Ordinarily, and in the very vast majority of cases, a different IP address signifies a different computer.
