Bill Clinton

That’s funny.

The only thing funnier would be Barack Obama

It wasn't a joke my friend

Barack Obama? better chief than any of these homophobic christian-fundamentalist Republican rednecks

Bill Clinton is a brilliant man and a very likeable man but he’s not a “Chief of a State"  today and when he was he was not a leader.  Clinton was the type of guy that would stick his finger in the air to see which way the wind was blowing and that’s the direction he would go.  Clinton also shipped 10’s of thousand of US manufacturing jobs to Mexico.  But Clinton’s biggest mistake was decimating US intelligence and his refusal to go after bin-Laden pre 9/11.

Now Barack Obama is another story, the man could not lead himself out of a closet.  As Chief of a State here are a few of his accomplishments:

Lowest US consumer confidence in 30 years.

America’s credit rating downgraded for the first time in history.

34th consecutive month the unemployment rate has been above 8%

Choric unemployment worse that the Great Depression

Federal spending, the budget deficit and national debt are all at the highest level as a percentage of GDP since WWII

46 million now living in poverty, the most on record since the census began tracking poverty.

Highest black  unemployment in history.

Worst jobs record of any president.

Worst housing crisis since 1931.

Misery index at a 28 year high.

Under Obama US poverty rate swells to 1 in 6.

Record number of Americans now rely on food stamps.

Rate of economic growth under Obama only slightly higher than the 1930’s decade of the Great Depression.

He's been to all 57 states.

Now that's a Chief of State and I'm just getting started listing his failures.

It’s does take homophobic Christian-fundamentalist Republican redneck to read the facts.  And Obama also opposes gay marriage.

In my opinion and from the view of Germany, this is mostly a result of the government George Bush jr., not Obama. The simple fact is, that from 2000 to 2008, too much money was spend on wars, this money is now missing. But Obama definitely did mistakes, he never closed Guantanomo, which is very disappointing.

By the way, I know that under Clinton and Robert Rubin (Secretary of the Treasury) the USA had no budget deficit, they also made profit, which is great work  Look here: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/a4/Budget_Deficit_1971_to_2001.png

To gave you another interesting impression from Germany about American presidents: A german survey institute asked in 2008, whether the Germans would vote for Obama or McCain. The result: Obama 74% - McCain 11%

One other aspect: When it comes to American politics, there are just two big parties, so you have to decide which party is rather! better. In Germany, we have five parties!!! in the parliament, a socialist one, a socialdemocaratic one, liberal, conservative and a Green party, so we have more possiblities than in the USA.

Your perception is shared here also but the further away we get from the Bush administration the more people blame Obama.  Bush did spend and started wars which Obama promised to end his first year and didn’t, but the problem is Obama has spend more money than all the presidents combined including Bush.  Also the last 2 years of Bush’s term the democrats controlled both the House and Senate many of the bills passed from 2006-2008 were responsible for the bank meltdowns and the housing crisis. Obama’s popularity has declined about 30% since January 2009.  Blame Bush has gotten old Obama owns the economy.

Part of the surplus after the Clinton administration was a result of cutting defense and intelligence which in my opinion contributed to 9/11.  Clinton wanted to spend more domestically but Congress was controlled by the republican and they passed few bills supporting Clinton.

There are 5 parties here also but most people are registered democrat or republican, I’ve never been either.  I was libertarian for many years then became a Green party member and now registered as an independent.  I did not vote for Obama or McCain, I wrote in Mickey Mouse.  I really dislike Obama and believe our government is pretty screwed up with or without Obama also I think Obama will be regarded in American history as the worst president ever.  Mickey Mouse would do a better job.

Political discussion can get pretty emotional and heated, thank you for a civil discussion.  And BTW I lived in your beautiful country for two years during President Reagan’s term.
