International and US counters, different counts

I have both counters loaded on each of our pages, but today I noticed the international counter indicates 100 US flag visits.

The US flag counter when added indicates 125.

Why are they not the same?  I installed them on the same day for each page.

Re: International and US counters, different counts

1. The counter image must be loaded completely. It is likely that your visitors didn't load the image of the international counter.
2. Some visitors might have accessed your site via facebook &co. These visits will be counted as coming from the U.S.

Re: International and US counters, different counts

ok, but using the US state flag counter I have 125 state visitors, the international counter is less at 100.  If users came from facebook the number should represent the same on either counter.

Re: International and US counters, different counts

Additionally, I upgraded the sate flag counter to pro, looking at the details it shows that I had 3x visitors from the UK, but the international counter shows just one.

State counter details show my last international visitor came from Ireland, international counter shows that I have never had a visitor from Ireland?

Re: International and US counters, different counts

Based on your point one, my counter management details accessed via this site show different statistics than what I see on my site.  Why would that occur?

Re: International and US counters, different counts

Do you have both counters in parallel on all of your sites?

Re: International and US counters, different counts

Yes I do.  Anyway, this is not a major issue, it was a question.  I can see how someone might visit a page and not have the image present itself completely, and therefore not be counted.  Makes sense.

But, I am concerned to see that occurring so often.  I will try to observe if the state counter loads more quickly because it was not the pro version, not sure if that can have an effect on display speeds.

Both counters are now pro.  I will monitor to see if I have another question later.  I just was so excited to see some foreign and multiple state visitors.

Thanks for answering my questions.

Re: International and US counters, different counts

You have two different counters on your site.
http://s09.flagcounter.com/more/JMVT/ for the international visits
http://s07.flagcounter.com/more/m0HJ for the US visits.
I recommend to generate the US counter from your international counter. That ensures that the US visits of both counters are synchronised. That would be the code<a href="http://s09.flagcounter.com/more/JMVT"><img src="http://s09.flagcounter.com/count_US/JMVT/bg_FFFFFF/txt_000000/border_CCCCCC/columns_3/maxflags_51/viewers_United+States+Visitors/labels_1/pageviews_1/flags_1/" border="0"></a>

You can easily add new regional counters by replacing the term "US" by other country codes. You can check the html source of http://llandewi.angelfire.com/queenslandrail.html to see how it works and which country codes are available.

Re: International and US counters, different counts

I guess I only needed one counter at the pro level.  Shouldn't have bought another pro counter then.

I will switch over to this code.  Thank you for providing the instruction and concepts.
