Hi Knorrepoes,

We did encounter a power issue yesterday related to the hurricane, which may have affected some of yesterday's data for some counters. You can see more at http://flagcounter.boardhost.com/viewtopic.php?id=25076

Here is the latest information we have received:

We are aware of what appears to have been a brief power issue occurring at approximately 16:30EDT.  At this time electrical engineers are still investigating.  While we do not have full details yet, we do know that local grid power in Atlanta was interrupted by winds resulting from Hurricane Irma and we have been operating on generator power in Atlanta for the last several hours.  We will have more information once electrical engineers have concluded their investigations . . .

We are investigating the cause of two of our servers briefly losing power this afternoon, which may have affected some data collected today. The two servers are located in Atlanta, Georgia so it is possible that the power fluctuation might be related to the massive hurricane that has been traveling up the coast, however, we do not have any further information at this time. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi rickhow,

I will post the response that we sent to your email inquiry regarding this:

Hello,

Some website providers have recently implemented code on their services that cause all external images to load through a proxy server. This can interfere with our code. We are able to count your visitors when they load your Flag Counter image from our server. When an image loads through a proxy server, the only connection made to our server is from that proxy server, and the visitor never makes contact with our server. This results in the only location that your counter detects being wherever the proxy server is located, as we have no way of knowing that the server is passing the image onto someone else, or where that someone else might be.

Fortunately, it appears that many providers are only implementing this proxy behavior on "insecure" images. You can try the secure version of our code, which may resolve this issue by changing the "http://" in your code twice to "https://". This option has worked for many of our customers.

Thank you,
Flag Counter Support

Correct, we've been upgrading to faster servers over the years that have allowed us to use fewer of them.http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png

We recently merged the s10 and s11 servers. It looks like there were a few wrinkles to iron out but everything should be better now.

e.limonov, your counter is loading through a Livejournal proxy server and that issue is unrelated to the server merger. You should try the SSL version of our code, by using our Regenerate HTML tool, or changing the "http://" in your code twice to "https://"

If there are any remaining abnormalities, please post and we will get them fixed!

Hi victor,

I did not find any counters registered to your forum email address. Is there another email address you might have used? You might also try these instructions:

Lost your counter's HTML code?
Your counter is likely still somewhere on our servers. If you registered your counter, search your email for your counter's information. Otherwise, if you happen to know the address of your statistics page (which might be in your browser history), please follow our Modifying Your Flag Counter instructions to regenerate your HTML code.

If you do not have your Flag Counter code or the address of your statistics page, try checking the Internet for cached versions of your site that may contain your counter. A good place to start is CachedPages.com.

Please note that counters that do not receive a new visit in more than 30 days are subject to removal from our servers for inactivity.

Hi berni,

I did reply to your question in April, please see here: http://flagcounter.boardhost.com/viewtopic.php?pid=294253#p294253

I noticed your follow up, and thought you were just making us aware that you really wanted this feature, which was noted. My answer in April remained relevant to everything that there was to say, and the thread remained open so that others could share if they too were interested in such a feature.

I'm sorry if you feel like you need to find a new counter, we have valued your business and would be sad to see you go.
